WSC was Awarded Combined Cycle Simulator for Malaysia

In January 2016 Malakoff , a leading Independent Power Producer (IPP) in Malaysia awarded WSC a project to support building a training simulator for the Prai Power Plant (PPP).  PPP is a 1 on 1 single shaft combined cycle plant that generates 350 MW. It is located right outside Penang Island in Malaysia.  PPP is powered by a GE 9FA Combustion Turbine fueled by Natural Gas and Oil, GE D10 Steam Turbine, and a Doosan triple-pressure HRSG. PPP is controlled by two DCS:  MarkV DCS and Cimplicity HMI controls the Combustion Turbine, while Foxboro IA and Foxview HMI controls the BOP systems.  WSC will develop all process models including electrical systems, emulate MarkV DCS and Foxboro IA DCS and deliver the simulator fully integrated and ready for training to Malakoff by the end of 2016. This combined cycle simulator is the fortieth (40) custom built combined cycle simulator awarded to WSC. This record achievement, which started with the first contracts in year 2000 to deliver 2 replica combined cycle simulators through a collaboration between EPRI and other power producers with Combined Cycle plants, is unmatched in the industry.
